chief engineer, Mike Strizki

Mike Strizki has been working to change the way we think about energy for most of his adult life. His determination to help others see the environmental friendliness and the economic viability of clean renewable sources of energy is what caused him to become part of greenwatt llc.

Prior to joining greenwatt llc, Mike served as Director of Commercial and Residential Operations with Advanced Solar Products (ASP), an installer of photovoltaic panel systems. During his tenure at ASP, Mike personally oversaw the installation of over six megawatts of solar energy.

Mike started his career with the New Jersey Department of Transportation Office of Research and Technology. While there, he served as Project Engineer where he developed renewable energy technologies. The most noted of his projects was the first commercial purchase of fuel cells in the Department of Transportation’s Variable Message Signs. Other high visibility projects include the Electric Vehicle Station Car Project: Project Power Commute; and two fuel cell vehicles: The New Jersey Venturer and The New Jersey Genesis. Mike was awarded the President’s Award for the Environment in 2000 for his work on The New Jersey Genesis.

In July 2000, Mike joined Millennium Cell in Eatontown, New Jersey where he completed a world range record with The New Jersey Genesis over a distance of 400 miles (644 km) on hydrogen fuel. He also served as Project Engineer in completing the Peugeot Fuel Cell Fire-Fighting Vehicle and the Duffy Fuel Cell Electric Boat in September 2003. In 2004, he completed a fuel cell powered “Gem” Personal Transport Vehicle for the Mohegan Sun Casino. The most recent project completed is the nation's first solar-hydrogen home. The project was dedicated in October 2006 and was supported by a grant from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and private partners.
